Hermosa Village is a 205 unit senior living community located on the former site of Smuggler’s Inn in Tucson, Arizona. The grand porte-cochere and lobby are oriented towards the intersection, allowing the units courtyard and mountain views. The two and three-story residential floors overlook two large courtyards. The larger, active courtyard incudes a pool, hard court gaming area, and expands off an expansive dining patio embraced by a semi-circular water wall. The passive courtyard features walking paths, and covered Ramada’s. The interior amenities include the dining, bistro, full service spa and theater on the first floor, the upper level featuring exercise/wellness facilities, library, classrooms, and a chapel along with a saloon. The exterior finish is a simple stucco finish with tile roofs. The stepping of exterior balconies and deep set windows provide paly of light reminiscent of an old world resort. This quiet elegance fits nicely with the neighborhood, yet is sparing in its simplicity.
