McDowell Village is an intimate master planned senior living community located at the northwest corner of McDowell and Granite Reef Roads in Scottsdale, Arizona. The master plan creates a nice balance between the Stagebrush Theater and the Granite Reef Senior Center. The residential wings cross and create three distinct courtyards, both passive and active. The passive courtyards feature fountains, barbeques, Ramada’s, gardens and a putting green. The active courtyard includes a pool, spa, outside dining area, walking paths, bocce ball courts and a dog run. This 197 unit, three-story, double loaded wood structure has 4 unit types, ranging in size from 650 SF to 1,290 SF for either one or two bedroom living units. The deep overhangs, brick detailing and horizontal emphasis provides a Wrightian feel. Enhanced common areas are provided along a wide interior “street,” fostering social interaction and easy access to offices, 24 hour bistro, dining, kitchen, crafts, workout areas, hair salon, Movie Theater, classroom, saloon and chapel. The facility is licensed for independent as well as assisted living.
